CKS Memorial Hall – This memorial hall is home to several classical Chinese buildings, including the stately memorial itself as well as the National Concert Hall and National Theater. Another highlight is the hourly honor guard display.
Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall is located in the heart of Taipei City. The area is 250,000 square meters and it is the attraction most visited by foreign tourists. Outside the gate of Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall, there are poles carrying the sign of true rightness. The architecture of Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall is inspired by Tientam in Beijing. The four sides of the structure are similar to those of the pyramids in Egypt. The material is white marble. The roofs are decorated with deep-blue glass as part of the reflection of blue sky and bright sun. It adds a touch of grandeur. The garden is planted with red flowers. As a whole, the colors of blue, white and red express the National Flag and the spirit of freedom, equality and brotherhood.
Lungshan Temple – Longshan Temple is a famous old temple in Taiwan. It is for worshiping Guanshiyin Budda and other divine spirits. Longshan Temple is facing the South. Its architecture is a three-section design in shape. There are the front hall, the rear hall and the right/left dragons protecting the middle hall. The layout is square and serene. The temple was built in Qianlong 5th year in Qing Dynasty.
Ximenting Shopping Area – The name of Ximending came from the period of Japanese colonization. At that time most local residents live within Taipei City. Ximending is the center for recreation. In 1896, the first theater “Tokyo Stand” was set up. In 1922, the place was officially called Ximending.
National Palace Museum – The National Palace Museum boasts the world’s largest and most impressive collection of Chinese art and artifacts, dating back more than 7,000 years. The full collection comprises over 650,000 items, including calligraphy, paintings, jade, bronze, silk and curio pieces.
Taipei 101 shopping Mall – Taipei 101 is the tallest building in the world, with a mass of shops on the lower floors, incorporating many top brands under the LVMH group, such as Louis Vuitton, Dior, Celine, etc. The fourth floor houses the Page One bookstore from Singapore, with the highest-roofed coffee house in Taipei and many fine restaurants.

Day 03 : Taipei – Sun Moon Lake – Taichung

Sun Moon Lake – The Sun Moon Lake, located in the middle of Taiwan, with an elevation of 748 meters above sea level, is the only natural big lake in Taiwan. Day 04 : Taichung – Kaohsiung

Fo Gunag MountainFo Gunag Shan Monastery – At the north-east of Dashu Township in Kaohsiung county on the left bank of the Gaoping Kaoping river, a famous tourist destination is located. Here you will find the Buddhist center of South Taiwan, established my Master Hsing Yun and his disciples. The architecture of the temples is very characteristic, and at the southeastern side of Fo Gunag Mountain Gunag Shan Monastery the most prominent landmark of the region is found: a huge golden statue of Buddha Amitaabha which measures some 120 meters.
Leo Ho Night Market – You will not be considered to visit Kaohsiung if you miss out Liuhe Night Market. As early as in 1950, more and more stalls came to stationed in Dagangpu of Xinxing District in Kaohsiung, finally forming the well-known “Dagangpu Night Market”. The night market is developed into large-scale, known as Liuhe Night Market.
Dream Mall – Nature, life and maritime culture converge at Dream Mall, Kaohsiung City’s first international class shopping and leisure center. The new mall is situated in Kaohsiung Multifunctional Commerce and Trade Park adjacent to Chenggong Rd. and Zhonghua Rd. The east-west running Time Avenue lies to the north and Kaohsiung International Airport, Kaohsiung Harbor, Sun Yat-sen Expressway and MRT stations are located nearby, making the mall easy to reach. The front Blue Whale Hall rises seven floors, while the main mall building has nine aboveground floors plus two underground levels providing indoor parking for up to 3,561 cars and 2,016 scooters. An additional 605 cars, 636 scooters, and 21 buses can fit into the outside lot.

Day 05 : Kaohsiung –TainanTainan – Taipei

Former British Consulate – The consulate was built in 1865 with more than a hundred years of history. It is now the most antique western building preserved in Taiwan, which is listed as the second-class historic spot. It was the western building designed by a British engineer and built by Chinese craftsmen, and it is the most meaningful ancient building of Chinese modern history with graceful and elegant proportion. Semicircle arches are rhythmically arranged in order with considerably rhyming.
Chihkan Tower – Tainan Chikanlou(Chihkanlou)is built by the Dutch in 1652. It was originally called Provintia. In Dutch it means eternity. The Chinese called the building “Chikanlou(Chihkanlou)”, “Fanzailou” or “Honmaolou”. Although Chikanlou(Chihkanlou) has gone through Ming Dynasty, Qing Dynasty and the Japanese Colonization Period, it basically still maintains its original look.
Koxinga Shrine – The Guoxingye’s Shrine Yanping Junwang Temple, located by Kaishan Road surrounded by trees, is the only Fujianese style shrine in Taiwan. This is the shrine built in memory of the work and achievement of Cheng Cheng Kung, the pioneer of Taiwan. Cheng Cheng Kung was originally called Cheng Sun, a native in County Fujian. His father, Cheng Chi Lung, was a wanderer in his early days. He has been a merchant as well as a pirate. His mother was a Japanese lady called Tagawa. Cheng was born with great intelligence. Not only was he diligent in his studies, he also has a huge ambitious to achieve something big, i.e. to become someone who are good in both academic work and in the military field. By the time he was 21 years old, Wu San Kwei led the Qing army into China and the Ming dynasty thus came to an end.
Anping Treehouse – It was the original warehouse for British trading company Tait & Co. The aerial rools and branches of trees wrapped around the building, combind with soil, red brick and partial concrete wall creates an unusual sight.

The night market is formed by many prosperous shops on Wenlin Road, Dadong Road and Danan Road, etc. Among them, Shilin Market was built as early as in 1899 and the market is famous for various snacks and eatery. Many visitors have come to Shilin Night Market to enjoy the delicious foods, such as large pancake enfolding small pancake, hot pot on stone or Shilin sausage. Shilin Night Market has become a renowned place for great foods.

Day 03 : Taipei – YehliuYehliu – Taipei

Yehliu – Yeliu Yeliou is a cape of about 1,700 meters long formed by Datun Mountain reaching into the sea. When overlooked from above, the place is like a giant turtle submerging into the sea. Thus, it is also called “Yeliu Yeliou Turtle”. Because the rock layer of seashore contains sandstone of limestone texture and it is subject to sea erosion, weathering and earth movements, there is particular scenery consisting of sea trenches/holes, candle shaped rocks, and pot shaped rocks.
Songshan Cultural and Creative Park – In 2012, the Songshan Cultural and Creative Park was positioned as the “Creative Hub of Taipei”, with the objective to nurture creative talents and energy. The Park is not designed with a commercial focus, but rather, its mission is to kindle creativity and innovation and to be in synch with the interdisciplinary developmental trend observed in today’s industries. The Songshan Cultural and Creative Park is not just a platform for showcasing creativity and innovation.
Xinyi shopping district – Xinyi Business District is one of the most distinctive areas of Taipei City. Here you will find department stores, hotels, and fashionable restaurants clustered closely together, as well as important landmarks like City Hall, the Taipei World Trade Center TWTC, Taipei 101, the flagship store of the Eslite Bookstore chain, and so on. There are lots and lots of people here, as well as stores and entertainment activities, so you might call this area “Taipei’s Manhattan.” Throughout the Xinyi Business District you’ll see wide, clean streets, display windows showing the latest fashions, and big billboards. Day 04 : Taipei – YangmingshanYangmingshan – Dansui – Taipei
Stops: Yangmingshan Park, Dansui Old Street, Fishermen’s Wharf, Huashan 1914 Creative Park.
Yangmingshan – Yangmingshan National Park is located in the north of Beitou. Yangmingshan was called Caoshan Grass Mountain during Japanese occupation of Taiwan, because it was covered with grass and seldom visited. After World War II, the KMT government renamed the mountain Yangmingshan and built a park here. Yangmingshan National Park is the only park in Taiwan that has volcanic geography and hot springs. It is next to Shamao Mountain and Qixing Mountain with Datun Mountain on the right and Guanyin Mountain in front. The magnificent mountainous scenery and comfortable weather have made Yangmingshan National Park a perfect summer resort. Total area of the park is 125 hectares, designed in traditional Chinese style. The natural beauty of the part has won it the reputation as urban forest and the Taipei garden.
Tamsui – Tamsui used to be called Huwei. It is a derivation from the ancient tongue Hoba. It means the river outlet. Tamsui is located in northwest of Taipei basin. Tamsui is surrounded by mountains and rivers and the scenery is beautiful. Hongmao Castle is a historical site in Tamsui with historical meaning. It was built by the Spaniards in 1626 and restored by the Dutch. The castle was called Anthony Castle. Because Taiwan people called the Dutch people Hongmao people with red hair, the castle thus was called Hongmao Castle. It was also called Huwei Castle.
Fisherman’s Wharf – Fisherman’s Wharf is a multi-purpose leisure fishing port developed by the New Taipei City Government. There are magnificent floating piers and a spacious park, with a bridge in the shape of a boat spanning across the harbor and a wooden path stretching over 300 meters at the waterfront. It is relaxing to lean against the fence enjoying the breeze and sights at the Tamsui River mouth. In the evening, this is the best place to watch the view of the sunset.
Huashan 1914 Creative Park – In 1997 members of the Golden Bough Theatre made a startling discovery. There, deep in the heart of Taipei and cordoned off from all visitors, stood an abandoned factory. The group described the factory as a city within a city, a place where nature was left to age with concrete for nearly a decade…and they were intrigued.

Sanxia – Sanxia Sansia is a traditional district located in northern Taiwan, easily accessible from Taipei. It has become known in recent years mainly because of its Qingshui Zushi Divine Ancestor Temple, which is unique among all the Chinese temples of the world for the painstaking and time-consuming dedication to classical temple arts that is manifested in its modern reconstruction work.
Yingge – Yingge is a pottery town, known as the “Jingde Township of Taiwan.” The town has several hundred pottery plants, and equal numbers of pottery shops that sell their products. Jianshanpu Road is the origin of the local ceramics industry, and even today it has an old square coal-fired kiln chimney that serves as its landmark. Every October the town holds the Yingge Ceramics Festival; and, if you want to learn about the development of ceramics in Taiwan, the place to go is the Yingge Ceramics Museum.

People worried the water of Sun Moon Lake might cover Longfeng Temple and Ihuatang of Shuishotsun, they built Wenwu Temple. The Wenwu Temple is 2 Longfeng Temple and Ihuatang in 1. It was rebuilt in 1969. Its gate is face to the north. People pray the Civil Saint of Confucius, the Military Saint of Guangong, and the Established God of two temples at the Wenwu Temple. The temple is popular among students.

As early as in 1950, more and more stalls came to stationed in Dagangpu of Xinxing District in Kaohsiung, finally forming the well-known “Dagangpu Night Market”. The night market is developed into large-scale, known as Liuhe Night Market.

Day 05 : Taichung – Kaohsiung

Fo Gunag MountainFo Gunag Shan Monastery At the north-east of Dashu Township in Kaohsiung county on the left bank of the Gaoping Kaoping river, a famous tourist destination is located. Here you will find the Buddhist center of South Taiwan, established my Master Hsing Yun and his disciples. The architecture of the temples is very characteristic, and at the southeastern side of Fo Gunag Mountain Gunag Shan Monastery the most prominent landmark of the region is found: a huge golden statue of Buddha Amitaabha which measures some 120 meters.
Dream Mall – Nature, life and maritime culture converge at Dream Mall, Kaohsiung City’s first international class shopping and leisure center. The new mall is situated in Kaohsiung Multifunctional Commerce and Trade Park adjacent to Chenggong Rd. and Zhonghua Rd. The east-west running Time Avenue lies to the north and Kaohsiung International Airport, Kaohsiung Harbor, Sun Yat-sen Expressway and MRT stations are located nearby, making the mall easy to reach. The front Blue Whale Hall rises seven floors, while the main mall building has nine aboveground floors plus two underground levels providing indoor parking for up to 3,561 cars and 2,016 scooters. An additional 605 cars, 636 scooters, and 21 buses can fit into the outside lot.

Day 06 : Kaohsiung – KentingKenting – Kaohsiung
Stops: Kenting Park, Olanpi Light House, Maopitou, Kenting Street.
Kenting Park – The centerpiece of the Hengchun Peninsula is Kenting National Park, Taiwan’s only tropical national park. Established in 1982, Kenting National Park covers a total area of 33,268 hectares of land and maritime environments
Olanpi Light House – “E-Luan” also call” Olanpi Light House” is the transliteration of sail in Paiwan Tribe’s language. It is because that there is a sail-like reef rock in this place. “Bi” means protruding. Since this place is a cape, it is named “E-Luan-Bi”.
Mao Pi tou – Maobitou is located in the west cape of southern Taiwan, right on the demarcation point of Taiwan Strait and Bashi Channel. Since there is a rock falling from the sea cliff which looks like a crouching cat facing toward the sea, it is named Maobitou. The whole area of Maobitou is a typical erosional landform of coral coast which just faces windward and has abundant sea erosion.

Day 07 : Kaohsiung –TainanTainan – Taipei
Stops: Former British Consular Residence at Dagou , Tainan City tour Chihkan Tower, Koxgina Shrine, Anping Castle, Anping Tree House,.
Former British Consulate – The consulate was built in 1865 with more than a hundred years of history. It is now the most antique western building preserved in Taiwan, which is listed as the second-class historic spot.
Chihkan Tower – Tainan Chikanlou(Chihkanlou)is built by the Dutch in 1652. It was originally called Provintia. In Dutch it means eternity. The Chinese called the building “Chikanlou(Chihkanlou)”, “Fanzailou” or “Honmaolou”. Although Chikanlou(Chihkanlou) has gone through Ming Dynasty, Qing Dynasty and the Japanese Colonization Period, it basically still maintains its original look.
Koxinga Shrine – The Guoxingye’s Shrine Yanping Junwang Temple, located by Kaishan Road surrounded by trees, is the only Fujianese style shrine in Taiwan. This is the shrine built in memory of the work and achievement of Cheng Cheng Kung, the pioneer of Taiwan.
Anping Treehouse – It was the original warehouse for British trading company Tait & Co. The aerial rools and branches of trees wrapped around the building, combind with soil, red brick and partial concrete wall creates an unusual sight.

CKS Memorial Hall – This memorial hall is home to several classical Chinese buildings, including the stately memorial itself as well as the National Concert Hall and National Theater. Another highlight is the hourly honor guard display.
Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall is located in the heart of Taipei City. The area is 250,000 square meters and it is the attraction most visited by foreign tourists. Outside the gate of Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall, there are poles carrying the sign of true rightness. The architecture of Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall is inspired by Tientam in Beijing. The four sides of the structure are similar to those of the pyramids in Egypt. The material is white marble. The roofs are decorated with deep-blue glass as part of the reflection of blue sky and bright sun. It adds a touch of grandeur. The garden is planted with red flowers. As a whole, the colors of blue, white and red express the National Flag and the spirit of freedom, equality and brotherhood.
Lungshan Temple – Longshan Temple is a famous old temple in Taiwan. It is for worshiping Guanshiyin Budda and other divine spirits. Longshan Temple is facing the South. Its architecture is a three-section design in shape. There are the front hall, the rear hall and the right/left dragons protecting the middle hall.
Ximenting Shopping Area – The name of Ximending came from the period of Japanese colonization. At that time most local residents live within Taipei City. Ximending is the center for recreation. In 1896, the first theater “Tokyo Stand” was set up. In 1922, the place was officially called Ximending.
National Palace Museum – The National Palace Museum boasts the world’s largest and most impressive collection of Chinese art and artifacts, dating back more than 7,000 years. The full collection comprises over 650,000 items, including calligraphy, paintings, jade, bronze, silk and curio pieces.
Taipei 101 shopping Mall – Taipei 101 is the tallest building in the world, with a mass of shops on the lower floors, incorporating many top brands under the LVMH group, such as Louis Vuitton, Dior, Celine, etc. The fourth floor houses the Page One bookstore from Singapore, with the highest-roofed coffee house in Taipei and many fine restaurants.

Day 03 : Taichung – Sun Moon LakeSun Moon Lake – Taichung
Stops: Sun Moon Lake, Sun Moon Lake by boat, Sun Moon Lake Ita Thao Indigenous Village.
Sun Moon Lake – The Sun Moon Lake, located in the middle of Taiwan, with an elevation of 748 meters above sea level, is the only natural big lake in Taiwan. The southern part of Lalu Island is shaped like a new moon, and the northern part is shaped like a sun; hence the name Sun Moon Lake.
Ita Thao – Ita Thao is called Barawbaw in thao language. The Han people call it North Cave. It was named Te Hua village after the restoration of Taiwan, and is under the administration of Yuchi. Barawbaw is the last residence of the thao people at Sun Moon Lake. On account of the continuous stream of tourists, many Han people moved here to go into trade. Therefore, Ita Thao becomes the most populous area around the Sun Moon Lake. There are stores, restaurants, and hotels in the village. Also the thao people establishes the “thao Cultural Village” for tourists to appreciate the traditional culture, songs, and dancing of the thao tribe.

Day 04 : Taichung – TainanTainan – Kaohsiung
Stops: Tainan City Tour Chihkan Tower, Koxgina Shrine, Anping Castle, Anping Tree House, Kaohsiung Love River, Liu Ho Night Market, Dream Mall.

East Coast National Scenic Area – The East Coast National Scenic Area, known as “Taiwan’s last unspoiled land,” stretches 170 kilometers down the east coast of the island from the mouth of the Hualien River in the north to Xiaoyeliu Little Yeliu in the south. To the east it is bounded by the Pacific Ocean; to the west rises the Coastal Mountain Range.

Day 07 : Hualien – Taroko GorgeTaroko Gorge – Taipei

Taroko Gorge – Taroko became a national park in 1986, including Hualien County, Nantou County and Taichung City. Taroko is famous for its spectacular mountains and marble canyons. Cliffs and canyons stretch along Liwu River. Four million years ago, the island of Taiwan was formed by the collision of plates. After millions of years of wind erosion, the marble rocks were exposed and cut by Liwu River, creating impressive grand canyons. From Qingshui to Nanhu Peak, the drop height is 3,742 meters.
Shakadang Trail – Shakadang Trail is also known as “Mysterious Valley Trail” and was renamed to “Shakadang Trail” in 2001. This trail is built along the river cliff so travelers can easily observe both the rock folds and plant ecosystem beside in the river valley.

Day 08 : Taipei – YangmingshanYangmingshan – Dansui – Taipei
Stops: Yangmingshan Park, Queen’s head, Dansui Old Street, Fishermen’s Wharf, Shiling Night Market.
Yangmingshan – Yangmingshan National Park is located in the north of Beitou. Yangmingshan was called Caoshan Grass Mountain during Japanese occupation of Taiwan, because it was covered with grass and seldom visited. After World War II, the KMT government renamed the mountain Yangmingshan and built a park here. Yangmingshan National Park is the only park in Taiwan that has volcanic geography and hot springs.
Tamsui – Tamsui used to be called Huwei. It is a derivation from the ancient tongue Hoba. It means the river outlet. Tamsui is located in northwest of Taipei basin. Tamsui is surrounded by mountains and rivers and the scenery is beautiful. Hongmao Castle is a historical site in Tamsui with historical meaning. It was built by the Spaniards in 1626 and restored by the Dutch.
Fisherman’s Wharf – Fisherman’s Wharf is a multi-purpose leisure fishing port developed by the New Taipei City Government. There are magnificent floating piers and a spacious park, with a bridge in the shape of a boat spanning across the harbor and a wooden path stretching over 300 meters at the waterfront. It is relaxing to lean against the fence enjoying the breeze and sights at the Tamsui River mouth. In the evening, this is the best place to watch the view of the sunset.

Day 09 : Taipei – YehliuYehliu – Chiufen – Taipei
Stops: Yehliu Park, Queen’s Head, Chiufen Village, Nanya Rock Formations.
Yehliu – Yeliu Yeliou is a cape of about 1,700 meters long formed by Datun Mountain reaching into the sea. When overlooked from above, the place is like a giant turtle submerging into the sea. Thus, it is also called “Yeliu Yeliou Turtle”. Because the rock layer of seashore contains sandstone of limestone texture and it is subject to sea erosion, weathering and earth movements, there is particular scenery consisting of sea trenches/holes, candle shaped rocks, and pot shaped rocks.
Chiufen – It is said that long time ago there were only nine families in Jiufen Jioufen. Before the roads on land were built, all materials were transported via ships. Thus a habit was formed that nine pieces of same object were purchased at one time for reservation. Hence, the place was called Jiufen Jioufen.
Nanya Rock Formations – The northernmost tourist site in the scenic area, Nanya is noted for its fantastic rock formations and sea-eroded coral shore. The entire coastline here is a veritable sculpture garden that illustrates, in stone, the incomparable artistry of weathering and wave action. The patterned stone topography of Nanya, unique in Taiwan, was formed through the weathering of the sandstone that lines the shore. The oxidation of iron ore within the striations of the stone has given it a beautiful striped pattern. At the 89-kilometer mark of Provincial Highway 2, or the Coast Highway.

There are also exquisite wood sculptures. Among them, the well and Budda setting in the main hall are highly appreciated. The temple has many Chinese poems, verses and lyrics on signs. These add a touch of literature in addition to the religious and sightseeing value.

Shiling Night Market – Shilin Night Market is the one of the largest night markets in Taipei. The market is centered on Yangming Theater and Cicheng Temple. Shilin Night Market has become a renowned place for great foods.

The Park is not designed with a commercial focus, but rather, its mission is to kindle creativity and innovation and to be in synch with the interdisciplinary developmental trend observed in today’s industries.
Xinyi shopping district – Xinyi Business District is one of the most distinctive areas of Taipei City. Here you will find department stores, hotels, and fashionable restaurants clustered closely together, as well as important landmarks like City Hall, the Taipei World Trade Center TWTC, Taipei 101, the flagship store of the Eslite Bookstore chain, and so on. There are lots and lots of people here, as well as stores and entertainment activities, so you might call this area “Taipei’s Manhattan.” Throughout the Xinyi Business District you’ll see wide, clean streets, display windows showing the latest fashions, and big billboards.
