Program 01
Spain Splendor | 09 Nights / 10 Days | Madrid

Day 01 Arrive Madrid / Madrid – Pamplona (By Road) (395 Km / 05 hrs )
Arrival  in Madrid airport and departure to Pamplona, meet assist and transfer to your hotel. (here we connect with St  James’ Path way). Overnight at Hotel.

Day 02 Pamplona
After breakfast, Proceed to Morning guided city tour we will visit  its cathedral and specially the exceptional cloister. Afternoon we will drive along the nice mountainous landscape till Roncesvalles where there is a Collegiate, Church and the abbey XIIIth century ensemble. Overnight at Hotel.

Day 03 Pamplona – Burgos (By Road) (211 Km / 02 hrs 09 min appx.)
After breakfast, Proceed to XIth century nice Romanesque stone bridge. It was created by the kings to become commercial point in the route to Santiago in XIth century. XV and XVI th century Santa Maria la Real remains when it was capital a middle age Navarra´s  kingdom. XII-XVIIth century cathedral. Splendid Monastery. First written words in Spanish appeared, it is considered the birthplace of Spanish language Excellent place to live the atmosphere of the medieval traveler. Overnight at Hotel.

Day 04 Burgos
After breakfast, Proceed to Morning guided city tour We will visit a medieval village, which still maintains its original structure and in particular its cathedral, perhaps the best of Gothic Spain. Even a visit to the Cartuja (Charterhouse). Afternoon excursion to nice village, with middle age atmosphere in its streets. After we will visit Monastery (very important in middle age as center of wisdom and culture). Presently it is one of the few places in the world where you can enjoy Gregorian Chants, a ‘must’ for classic music lovers (timetable depends on season and day of the week). Return to the hotel. Overnight at Hotel.

Day 05 Burgos – Leon  (By Road) (183 Km / 01 hrs 49 min appx)
After breakfast, Proceed to Pure Romanesque style church in the route. Splendid Santiago Temple and its Romanesque facade is worthy of a stop In the middle years of the Christian kingdom, this city became the capital. It is full of historical remains.  In the afternoon, guided tour, with its splendid Gothic cathedral, with its beautiful stained-glass windows and superb chapel of St. Isidoro. Overnight at Hotel.

Day 06 Leon – Ponferrada (By Road) (114 Km / 01 hrs 17 min appx)
After breakfast Proceed to Time to visit the cathedral and Bishop Palace built by Gaudi – modernist genial architect Little village but very well preserved local architecture. It has been declared National Monument.Remains of Castle of Temple, the enigmatic medieval warrior-monks. Overnight at hotel.

Day 07 Ponferrada – Santiago (By Road) (209 Km / 02 hrs 39 min appx)
After breakfast Proceed to Small Romanesque churches, step on the path of Santiago. There are still some Celtic houses, pre-roman,  where animals and people used to live together to keep themselves warm and a hospital for pilgrims during the Middle Age it was shelter from the snow and the wolves. Important and majestic Benedictin Monastery. Little medieval ensemble First hill where Cathedral of Santiago can be seen. Here, we will understand medieval traveler’s emotion. (End of St James’ Pathway). Overnight at Hotel.

Day 08 Santiago
After breakfast Proceed to The city grew at the shadow of the cathedral, and the different bishops filled with churches in all art styles to compose a unique art ensemble declared ‘World Heritage Site’ by Unesco. Morning  guided city tour, we will visit the extraordinary Cathedral, its museum and concluded with a panoramic tour. Rest of the day at leisure. Overnight at Hotel.

Day 09 Santiago – Madrid (By Road) (608 Km / 05 hrs 55 min appx.)
After breakfast Proceed to Madrid. Full day at leisure. Overnight at hotel.Day

10 Depart Madrid
Departure transfer to onward destination.

Spain at a Glance | 03 Nights / 04 Days | Madrid

Day 01 Arrive Madrid / Madrid – Valladolid (By Road) (196 Km/ 02 hrs 19 min)
Arrival to Madrid airport. Meet assist and transfer to the Valladolid. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 02 Valladolid
After Breakfast Proceed to Full day excursion, we will assist to an introductory course by an specialist enologist  to know and appreciate  the certificated wines of the area Cigales, Rueda and  Ribera de Duero, in the Centre of Study and Interpretation Vitivinicola Emina. There you  will learn history of the wine cellar, explanation about elaboration, particularities, tasting with expert analysis, and lesson about maridaje of wine-cuisine. Degustation lunch where we will taste and put into practice the wine course in the restaurant (more details below). Afternoon, we will visit Penafiel with its superb castle and where  we will visit the Museum of  wine. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 03 Valladolid – Salamanca (By Road) (120 Kms / 01 hrs 14 min appx.)
After Breakfast Proceed to village in the middle age and with monumental downtown. They produce an excellent strong red wine, with an intense dark colour. We will visit a local winery, Bodega Palacio de Villachica. One of the oldest University in Europe, which was founded in XIIIth century.  Excellent monumental downtown Cathedral Old and New and the nice Plaza Mayor, (if it is possible,  we suggest it, to include a guided city tour). Overnight at the hotel.

Day 04 Salamanca – Madrid (By Road) (213 Kms / 03 hrs) / Depart Madrid
Proceed to Madrid airport, Departure transfer to onward destination.
