Day 01 : Arrive  La Paz -Tiwanaku – Copacabana

Departure to Tiwanaku, Bolivia’s main mystical archaeological site, which has been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Arrive and visit of the local museum that shows a great collection of stone carved objects and monoliths. Next, the archeological site where the most important Tiwanaku culture buildings can be seen such as Akapana, a pyramid-shaped construction of seven stepped terraces. The Kalasasaya  temple that houses the famous “Puerta del Sol” Gateway of the Sun and some other statues representing priests. And finally the Semi-subterranean temple with its rectangular sunken court, about two meters below of the normal level, decorated with many tenon-heads attached into the retention walls.
Departure to Copacabana, the most important religious sanctuary of Bolivia. Visit the main square and church where you can find the famous virgin of Copacabana.

Day 01 : Arrive Sucre
At the arrival, transfer to Hotel and accommodation. In the morning we visit the look-out point and the Recoleta monastery, the Cathedral, the Mercedes Museum, several churches, the House of Liberty. After we will get a feel for the city and wander around the streets. Later in the afternoon we will explore the beautiful General Cemetery where young children offer their services as guides to explain who is laid to rest in the mausoleums.

Day 02 : Sucre – Tarabuco
After breakfast drive to Tarabuco, a cultural and traditional town where is possible to find textiles of unsurpassable quality and texture, as well as appreciating a culture that remains very much alive.

Day 03 : Sucre – Potosí
After breakfast – visit “Cal Orco” in the quarry of the National Cement Factory where footprints of prehistoric animals 150 different species were found, and the “Dinosaur tracks of Calancha” where 80 footprints have been identified as from the second period. Finally, as a complement, visit the “Cretaceous Park” to walk around and see some model dinosaurs. In the afternoon drive to Potosí, walk around the city and visit the ‘Ingenio de San Marcos’, a converted silver refinery.

Day 01 : Arrive La Paz
The airport of La Paz is located roughly 14 km from the city centre with viewing points set along the length of the main route providing exceptional views of the city and the snow-capped mountain chain of the Cordillera Real.

Day 02 : La Paz
We will discover the city of La Paz by visiting the city’s main sites: the San Francisco Church, museums (Jaen street) and continue our tour as far as the Plaza Murillo, where the Legislative and Government Palaces and walk through the ‘Witches’ Market’, where you can see different ingredients used in age-old ceremonies and ritual, hear about religious beliefs and myths, visit one of the “Kallawayas” (traditional healers) and take part in a ritual and have your luck read using coca leaves. Later we will go through residential neighbourhoods to the Valley of the Moon, an area of striking natural geological formations located in the south part of the city.

Day 03 : La Paz
Today the group will visit the artisan and handicraft markets located near San Francisco chruch. In the afternoon, after lunch the group will take the Cable car to the Southern District of La Paz and continue.

City tour of La Paz and its Prado walk surrounded by buildings constructed from the 1920’s and throughout the 20th century; which shelter government and private offices.

Day 04 : Uyuni

Full day excursion to the Uyuni Salt flat*, the world’s largest salt deposit around 10.000 km2, which is the most impressive and unforgettable experience of the trip. Before arriving, you will have a quick stop at Colchani, a traditional salt refinement center.
The Uyuni salt flat seems to be a large ice-skating rink or glacier. The tour leads towards the Incahuasi Island formerly known as the Fish island covered with petrified algae and huge cactus. There is a nice panoramic view of the surrounding area from the top.

Early Flight From La Paz To Uyuni. Upon Arrival To Uyuni’s Aiport You Will Start Your Tour.
Leave Uyuni At 9.00 Am For The Salt Flat Past A Small Settlement Where The Locals Process Salt. We Will Not Stop As We Are Aiming To Get To The Middle Of The Salt Flat To See The Lagoons “Eyes”, Salt Mountains And Salt Blocks. This Singular Route Takes Us Into One Of The World’s Most Isolated Areas Where We Will Be Alone Surrounded By A Glittering White Landscape. After A Couple Of Hours Arrive At Isla Lomo De Pescado To Look At Giant Cacti And The Birds And Vizcachas That Have Made This Island Their Own. We Will Move On To The Galaxias Grotto Natural Coral Formations To Visit A Pre-Colombian Cemetery And Enter Caves To See Weird And Wonderful Rock Formations.

Day 01 : Arrive Lima
Arrival at Peru airport meet assist and transfer to hotel. Overnight at hotel.

Day 02 : Lima – Cusco
After breakfast, proceed to the airport and flight to Cusco. Arrive to Cusco whose name Quechua means “the navel of the world”. Transfer and accommodation. Visit of the city: The main square, where according to the legend, Manco Capac’s gold stick dig into the earth by itself, showing him where to set up the city. Following the visit, the street of Hatun Rumilloc where the famous stone of 12 angles perfectly embedded in the wall. The street changes its name to the street San Blas. This is a craft area, one of the most picturesque parts of the city. Departure to visit the surrounding ruins of Cusco:  Kenko, a religious center of complex form, with a semicircular amphitheatre, which has about twenty stone seats and an idol at the center; Puca Pucara: an Inca military construction, that consists of terraces and stairs; Tambomachay, also called ·The Inca’s Bath, owing to the canalization of water, and Sacsayhuaman: a cyclopean fortress built in order to defend Cusco against the enemies. Visit of the Koricancha, a famous temple dedicated to the Sun God. Visit of the Cathedral, built on the XVI century over the inca palace of Wiracocha. Overnight at hotel.

Day 03 : Cusco – Pisac Market – Ollantaytambo – Sacred Valley
After breakfast, departure to visit the Indian market of Pisac : the entire town becomes a fair, mainly on Sundays, offering to the visitors a colourful and folkloric spectacle with its displays of fruit and vegetables on the ground and on the stands where it’s possible to buy handicrafts brought from all over the region: ponchos, weaves and sweaters on wool, jewels, antiquities, and more. You will discover the local tradition such as: the bartering, still practiced by the indigenous, and the folklore expressed through the people’s clothes.  Close to the square, we find a traditional baker oven “horno”. Continue to Ollantaytambo; one of the last sites built by the Incas before the Conquerors arrival. One big part of the work remains unfinished; the abandoned stones were the dumb witnesses of the battle between Manco II against the invaders. Badgered by the conquerors the Inca sought refuge in the forest of Vilcabamba. Visit of the village of which layout of the streets, places and the foundation of the houses belongs to the Inca period. Overnight at hotel.

Day 04 : Sacred Valley – Ollantaytambo – Machu Picchu – Ollantaytambo – Cusco
After breakfast, transfer to Ollantaytambo train station to take the  Expedition train to Aguas Calientes Machu Picchu. Ascent by mini bus from Aguas Calientes by a vertiginous climb that will lead you to the site. Guided visit to the site Machu Picchu, “The lost city of the Incas” at 110 km of Cusco, discovered in 1911 by Hiram Bingham. After an important work of undergrowth clearing the surprising beauty of the site and its harmonious construction, in osmosis with the mountain were emphasized. The citadel is, without doubt, one of the most important architectonic and archaeological monuments of the planet. Located at 2400 meters above sea level, Machu Picchu is made of stone constructions spreading itself on a low and narrow hill, delimited by a cliff of 400 meters, a canyon giving on the Urubamba River. The function of this citadel is a mystery that the archaeologists could not clear up until now. They study the history and the function of this town of stone of almost a kilometer length, set up by Incas in this splendid geographical area where cohabit the Andean one with the Amazonian one. Return to Ollantaytambo in the Expedition train and transfert to Cusco. Overnight at hotel.

Day 05 : Cuzco – La Paz
After breakfast, transfer to the airport and flight to La Paz to take the international flight departure. Arrival and transfer to the city center. City tour of La Paz and its Prado walk surrounded by skyscrapers which shelter government and private offices. You will visit San Francisco Church, jewel of the barroque with its incredible altar worked entirely in gold foil. You will then continue to Plaza Murillo, La Paz’s main square where you can also admire the Cathedral and Government Palace. Find yourself in the middle of the historical center with its colonial streets and museums.You will finally discover the Sagarnaga street and the witches market offering many ingredients used for local medecine. Overnight at hotel.

Day 06 : La Paz – Sucre
Assisted transfer for flight to Sucre. Arrival and transfer to city center. Discover Bolivia’s offcial capital, considered among the most beautiful cities in Latin America, declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The “white city” will welcome you with its unique warmth and hospitality, inviting you to walk around la Recoleta and its panoramic view over the city landscape. You will then visit the Cathedral, City Hall and the famous Casa de la Libertad, cradle of the independant movement in Bolivia. Finally, visit San Felipe Neri’s ceilings. Overnight at hotel.

Day 07 : Sucre – Potosi – Uyuni
After breakfast, procced to Potosi. Discover the “Imperial City of Charles Quint”, an historical city wich preserves until today a unique charm. You will visit the emblematic Casa de la Moneda, the place where African slaves striked silver coins during spanish domination. Then, walk around the Main Square and surrounding streets appreciating the beautiful fronts of San Lorenzo and San Francisco churches. Departure to Uyuni. Overnight at hotel.

Day 08 : Uyuni
After breakfast, full day excursion to the Uyuni Salt flat, the world’s largest salt deposit around 10.000 km2, which is the most impressive and unforgettable experience of the trip. Before arriving, you will have a quick stop at Colchani, a traditional salt refinement center. The Uyuni salt flat seems to be a large ice-skating rink or glacier. The tour leads towards the Incahuasi Island formerly known as the Fish island covered with petrified algae and huge cactus. There is a nice panoramic view of the surrounding area from the top. Return to Uyuni. Overnight at hotel.

Day 09 : Uyuni – La Paz
Assisted transfer for flight to La Paz. Arrival and transfer to the city center. Continue your day with the visit of La Paz’s famous Moon Valley. You will cross over from the west and get a better picture of the unique geography of this one of a kind city. Arriving, a sense of disorientation will invade you just by seeing this clay valley formed through centuries. Overnight at hotel.

Day 08 : La Paz
After breakfast, departure to Copacabana, the most important religious sanctuary of Bolivia. Visit the Main Square and church where you can find the famous Indian virgin of Copacabana. Your trip will take to Sun Island, known as Lake Titicaca’s most important ceremonial center. Arrival and visit of Pilkokaina, ancient Inca palace while enjoying the amazing view of the lake. Continue to the Yumani Gardens and Sacred Fountain before descending the Inca steps. Return to Copacabana and then La Paz.

Day 09 : La Paz – Santiago
After breakfast, transfer to  airport for flight to onward destination. Arrival at the Santiago International Airport and welcome by your English speaking guide. Departure for the walking tour of the historic center of Santiago , surrounded by very modern districts . In the colonial district, visiting the Casa de La Moneda , the seat of government and on to the Plaza de Armas to discover colonial architecture and republican monuments such as the Cathedral nineteenth century. Visit of Mercado Central, one of the most picturesque places in Santiago that the building was declared a national monument. Will let you enjoy the specialties of fish and seafood. Transfer to the hotel. Overnight at hotel.

Day 10 : Santiago
After breakfast, departure for the city of Valparaíso, indescribable city whose port, the largest in Chile, created in 1536, is a place to experiment. The hills and the sea are the natural limits of the city and the historic center is home to architectural wonders, narrow streets and trolley bus UNESCO. Continue to the panoramic tour of Viña del Mar, a seaside town nearby Valparaiso. Return to Santiago.

Day 11 : Santiago
After breakfast, departure for Colchagua Valley. Visit of Casa Silva vineyard. At the end of XIXth century, the founder of Casa Silva, Emile Bouchon, traveled by the Atlantic to reach a real wine experience in Bordeaux. Generations after, his carmenere,  hilean strain by excellence, is one of the most famous in the world. Visit of Viu Manent vineyard and tasting of the wines. In 1935, Miguel Viu with his two sons founded an association dedicated to the wine commercialisation. Thirty years after, this familiar business became one of the biggest vineyards of the region, which has nowadays all the modern technology. Visit of Colchagua Museum*, known for his collection of pre-Columbian art. Return to Santiago. Dinner with folk show in a local restaurant. Overnight at hotel.

Day 01 : Arrive La Paz

La Paz is located roughly 14 km from the city centre with viewing points set along the length of the main route providing exceptional views of the city and the snow-capped mountain chain of the Cordillera Real.

Day 02 : La Paz
After breakfast full day visti La Paz
LA PAZ.- We will discover the city of La Paz by visiting the city’s main sites: the San Francisco Church, museums Jaen street and continue our tour as far as the Plaza Murillo, where the Legislative and Government Palaces and walk through the ‘Witches’ Market’, where you can see different ingredients used in age-old ceremonies and ritual, hear about religious beliefs and myths, visit one of the “Kallawayas” traditional healers and take part in a ritual and have your luck read using coca leaves. Later we will go through residential neighbourhoods to the Valley of the Moon, an area of striking natural geological formations located in the south part of the city.

Day 03 : La Paz – Sucre
After breakfast transfer to the airport to fly to Sucre. At the arrival, transfer to Hotel and accommodation.
In the morning we visit the look-out point and the Recoleta monastery, the Cathedral, the Mercedes Museum, several churches, the House of Liberty. Later in the afternoon we will explore the beautiful General Cemetery where young children offer their services as guides to explain who is laid to rest in the mausoleums.

Day 04 : Sucre
Sunday Only After breakfast drive to Tarabuco, a cultural and traditional town where is possible to find textiles of unsurpassable quality and texture, as well as appreciating a culture that remains very much alive.

Day 05 : Sucre – Potosi
After breakfast and before driving to Potosí, visit “Cal Orco” in the quarry of the National Cement Factory where footprints of prehistoric animals 150 different species were found, and the “Dinosaur tracks of Calancha” where 80 footprints have been identified as from the second period. Finally, as a complement, visit the “Cretaceous Park” to walk around and see some model dinosaurs.
In the afternoon drive to Potosí, walk around the city and visit the ‘Ingenio de San Marcos’, a converted silver refinery.

Day 06 : Potosi – Uyuni
After breakfast, we visit the “miners market” and in the Cerro Rico de Potosi visit a mine nearby where all the characteristics of mining are explained and we can talk about the various steps of this arduous work. In the afternoon we visit the “Casa de la Moneda” Royal Mint known as the ‘Escorial of America’. Later go by car to Uyuni seeing marvellous views out over the highlands.

Day 07 : Uyuni
After breakfast leave Uyuni at 9.00 am for the Salt Flat past a small settlement where the locals process salt. We will not stop as we are aiming to get to the middle of the Salt Flat to see the lagoons “eyes”, salt mountains and salt blocks.
This singular route takes us into one of the world’s most isolated areas where we will be alone surrounded by a glittering white landscape. After a couple of hours arrive at Isla Lomo de Pescado to look at giant cacti and the birds and vizcachas that have made this island their own. We will move on to the Galaxias Grotto natural coral formations to visit a pre-Colombian cemetery and enter caves to see weird and wonderful rock formations. In the afternoon take one of the hundreds of routes across the Salt Flat to watch the sun go down in a blaze of intense colours. B.L

Day 08 : Uyuni – La Paz
After breakfast leave from the hotel for the Tunupa Volcano, Chantani Museum and the Coquesa Mummies, discover the salt flats and appreciate the scenery. If it is the rainy season we will provide you with boots so that you can discover the wonderful reflections on the salt flats.
Arrive La Paz and transfer to hotel.

Day 09 : La Paz -Tiwanaku – Copacabana
After breakfast leave the city of La Paz for Bolivia’s most famous archaeological site, Tiwanaku, which is one of the oldest pre-Colombian cultures. Visit the pre-Inca city once the centre of the Tiwanaku culture, Semi-Subterranean Template, the Pyramid of Akapana, the Kalasasaya temple, the Gateway to the Sun and the museums.
We will also visit the community of Laja, where the city of La Paz was founded, to try homemade unleavened bread. In the afternoon we drive to Lake Titikaka and cross the Lake to Copacabana

Day 10 : Copacabana – Sun and Moon islands Sun and Moon islands- Copacabana
After brekfast in the morning, transfer to the Isalnd, where  e visit the Palace of Pilcocaina and after a walk across the Island of the Sun, local people will show us the art of fishing and how farming has developed on the Island of the Sun since pre-Inca times. Boat trip back to Copacabana.

Day 11 : Copacabana- Puno – Cusco
After breakfast transfer to the town of Puno.

Day 12 : Cusco
After breakfast guided tour visiting Cusco’s Historical Inca and Spanish Colonial Monuments and the Sacsayhuamán ruins near to the city of Cusco. Then, onto Tambomachay, known as the Inca baths. Lastly, enjoy a panoramic view of PukaPukara which was an administrative and military centre formed from terraces, stairways, passages, turrets and vaulted niches. Meals: Breakfast

Day 13 : Cusco – Machu Picchu
After breakfast transfer to the train station to board the Tourist Class train to Aguas Calientes, a small town located below Machu Picchu. Upon arriving at Aguas Calientes, transfer to the bus station to board your regular bus uphill to Machu Picchu approximately 20 minutes.
On arrival enjoy a guided tour of the Sanctuary. Afterwards, board your shuttle bus back to Aguas Calientes and then your return train to Cusco.
