Day 2 Luanda – Ndalatando – Cacuso – Calandula
At a scheduled time from Luanda to Malanje, we will make a stop in N’Dalatando to visit the Botanical Garden with its porcelain roses and a sample of the country’s biodiversity.
After lunch, we will head to the beautiful Calandula Falls.
Possibility to descend to the base of the falls.
Arrive Calandula and transfer to the hotel.

The Kalandula Falls are located in Malanje province inside Angola, are 105 meters high and are considered one of the largest waterfalls by volume in Africa. This major waterfall is powerful and impressive since it’s surrounded by scenic landscapes to match, great grasslands, and spanning savannas. That’s why its one true wonder of the world under wraps, and a hidden treasure that sees little guest visits compared to Zim-Zam’s Victoria Falls, so be part of it and discover it for yourself!
Day 3 Calandula – Pedras Negras de Pungo Andongo
After breakfast, we’ll head to Malange, a city-tour.
We continue our tour to the rapids of Rio Kzanza.

Return to Pousada de Calandula.
Rest of the afternoon free to enjoy and to walk in one of the most emblematic places in Angola.

Day 4 Calandula – Pungo Andongo – Luanda
After breakfast, we will start our return to Luanda.
Passing through pungo andongo, the “black stones” is the place of resistance to the conqueror Portuguese, where we will find the footprint of the queen of Angola. Queen N’ginga, Visit to the village of Dondo.
Arrival in Luanda.

Day 2 Luanda – Nzeto – Mbanza Kongo
We leave Luanda heading north to M’banza Congo (Uíge).
Lunch is planned in Nzeto, a small fishing town in the province.
Visit to the N ́zau Evua cave in the Nkiende region. In the colonial past, these caves served as a refuge for fighters and soldiers.
We’ll pass by the Bombo Falls, on the Cuilo River.
Arrival in M’Banza Kongo.

Day 3 Mbanza Kongo
After breakfast, we will take a city tour, passing by the famous Kulumbimbi.
The Cathedral of the Holy Saviour (San Salvador), built in 1549, and the associated old town, UNESCO World Heritage Sites since 2017.
Visit to the Museum of the Kingdom of Congo, the Yala Knuwu (sacred tree), Sungilu (place associated with the funeral ceremonies of the kings) and the church of Our Lady of the Conception.

Arrival at Luanda domestic airport 2 hours before departure for boarding and departure formalities to Catumbela airport.

Very early, we will leave for Tombwa passing through Baia dos Tigres (Risco area) to Foz do Cunene, on an adventure along the seaside challenging the oldest desert in the world, where giant sand dunes entangle the sea.

Set up camp by the sea or in the soup of one of the Dunes.
Dinner around the campfire and overnight in tents.
Day 4 Excursion to island of Tigres
After breakfast, departure by boat to the ghost town of Tigres Island.
Time to discover and stroll through the ruins.
Return at the end of the morning.

Day 5 Mouth of the Cunene River – Iona National Park – Pediva
After breakfast, dismantling the camp and departing for the Iona Park, final destination Pediva.
We will cross the park to observe the animal life (giraffes, oryx, zebras, antelopes, etc.), not forgetting Welwitchia, the ancient plant that only exists in this part of the planet.

Day 4 LUBANGO – CREVASSE OF ALTO BIMBI
Early we will leave to visit Cristo Rei and the Serra da Leba Viewpoint, before starting our tour through the highest areas of Huila and the Alto Bimbi Rift, we will pass through the area of the ancestral eucalyptus trees and the zootechnical area, being able to observe the local population in their daily misfortunes. Picnic lunch.
Return to Lubango.

Day 05 Lubango – Bicuar Park
After breakfast, depart to the Bicuar park passing by the Kimbos dos Mumuílas.
Lunch at Vihua Lodge Resort.
Free afternoon to rest and enjoy the pool.
At dusk, game drive to see Giraffes, Zebras, Cows, Wildebeests, Gazelles, Impalas, Ostriches, Orix, Sable Antelope, Gungas, Olongos, which inhabit freely in a space.

Day 2 Luanda – Lubango (Flight)

Day 3 Lubango – Chibia – Lubango
Today the day is dedicated to the Mumuilas.
Right after breakfast, we’ll go to the Chibia market, where we can interact with the mumuilas.

Lunch and return to the Hotel in Lubango.
Night in Lubango.
Day 4 Lubango – Chitunduhulo
After breakfast, departure towards Namibe with a stop at the Serra da Leba Viewpoint.
Picnic lunch along the way or national barbecue at the informal market of Mangueiras.
We will pass by the cemetery of the Himbas and Camp, in Chitundo Hulo where we can observe the cave paintings.

Day 5 Chitundohulo – Tombwa – Curoca Hills
After breakfast, while the camp is disbanded, a short walk to appreciate the cave paintings and have the possibility to interact with the local population, the mucubais depart towards the Tômbwa. Lunch of grilled fish at Tombwa at Mr. Rogério’s kiosk
Visit to the cliffs of Tombwa and Nossa Senhora dos Navegantes.
Camping, overnight, and dinner at camp.
Day 6 Mocamedes
After breakfast, we will depart towards Moçamedes
Passing by the Rosa dunes, Curoca hills, Lagoa dos Arcos.

Day 3 Pedras Negras de Pungo Andongo – Quedas de Calandula – Cacuso
After breakfast, we will depart to visit the mysterious Black Stones of Pungo Andongo where Queen Nginga left her footprint.
Time to walk around and enjoy the place.
We continue our tour to the Calandula Falls, the second largest in Africa, with the possibility of descending to the base of the falls.

Day 4 Cacuso | Rapids of Kwanza
After breakfast, we continue to the rapids of the Kwanza River, time to walk around and enjoy the place.

Day 5 Cacuso – Dondo – Gabela – Rio Uiri Farm (509 Kms – 8h)
After breakfast we continue with the discovery of Rural Angola and our tour of the farms, leaving the province of Cuanza Norte to go to Cuanza Sul, where the Uiri River coffee farm is located.
During this beautiful route, we will pass through the village of Dondo, Gabela, Conda, seeing the villages with adobe houses and red earth that contrast with the lush green of the landscape.

Day 6 Uiri River Farm
After breakfast, the morning is dedicated to visiting the farm and planting coffee.
Lunch and afternoon free to rest and enjoy the charms of the place and tours of the region.

Day 7 Sumbe – Porto Amboim – Belas (369kms – 6h)
After breakfast, departure to Rio Curinge Lodge, passing by Sumbe where we will stop to visit the city.

Very early, we’ll depart for Tombwa.
This route crosses the “Pink Dunes” and the corridor of the Tides, Lagoons” where the sumptuousness of the great desert takes our breath away.
Arrival at Foz do Cunene, stop to enjoy this place where on one side we have a lunar landscape and on the other the silver river and flanked by a green vegetation plummet.
Camping in Iona Park, in the Geodesic Center of Yona Park.
An inhospitable place inhabited by espinheiras and residence of the Himba people, who live from pastoralism and settle where the cattle can feed.

Day 4 Iona Park
Wake-up call and breakfast. Today we will go to the village of Yona, where we will have the opportunity of direct contact with the native tribes, a people who have been forgotten among the hot sand of the desert. The dominant tribe of this region are the Herero who branch out into different socio-cultural complexes, the Himba, Mukahona and Mucuroca.
We will continue to the border with the province of Cunene to Otchifengo.

Day 5 Iona Park – Oncocoa
Dawn and breakfast.
Today we continue to Oncocoa, in the province of Cunene, to visit the local market.
Today we will stay near a Kimbo (traditional village) of the Herero people.

Day 6 Oncocoa – Otchinjau
Breakfast and today we will go to Otchinjau, here the desert will give way to the steppe and the relief in the landscape offers large trees where the shade comforts us.
The baobab forest welcomes you to the land of the Mundimbas.

Day 7 Otchinjau – Bicuar National Park
Today our trip takes us towards the Bicuar National Park, on the border with the province of Huila, in the town of Viriambundo, we will rest under the majestic shade of one of the largest trees in Southern Angola, the majestic and secular Mulemba (ficus Welwitchia), lunch in the Bicuar National Park, and walk along the trails of the park where you can observe in its natural habitat a varied fauna (antelopes, leopard, jaguar, zebras, giraffes).

Day 8 Bicuar National Park
Today we will go to the Vihua Lodge Resort, a hotel in the heart of the forest that offers us a private safari park (zebras, giraffes, Olongos, Gungas, Gazelles, Impalas, Fan goats, Bush cows, Red Sables, Wildebeest, Bambis, Oryx, Ostrich and Monkeys.
Check-in and tour of the surroundings. At dusk you can participate in the safari or simply relax by the pool.

Day 9 Bicuar National Park – Lubango
Early risers can go on another safari before breakfast and enjoy the awakening of this nature where the mixture of perfumes are unique moments.
After breakfast, departure towards Lubango, visit to the informal market of Chibia to get in touch with the Nyaneka Humbi ethnic group, also called Mumuílas, we will also visit the village to admire the civil and religious buildings of the Portuguese colonial architecture.

Day 1 Arrive Luanda (By Flight)
Arrive Luanda.

Luanda, the capital of Angola, is a port city on the west coast of Southern Africa. A seafront promenade known as the Marginal runs alongside Luanda Bay. Nearby is the well-preserved 16th-century Fortress of São Miguel, which now contains the Museum of the Armed Forces. The fort has views of the harbor and the Ilha do Cabo, a long, thin peninsula in the bay that’s home to beaches, bars and restaurants.
Enjoy the drive in Luanda and have a general view of the city, get to know Cacuaco, one of the biggest and most populated districts of Luanda. Stop at city’s Ship Graveyard, with its fascinating and scary scenery, and walk up the viewpoint where you’ll better see all the 30 ships disintegrating in the sea shore. Stop at the Moon Viewpoint and enjoy its natural Beauty, then get to see and touch it up close to better understand how it’s formed.
Have great moments and take a picture next to one of the most iconic trees of Africa, the Baobab tree or as it’s called here in Angola the Imbondeiro, in the Golf Course also used by religious groups and churches as place of prayer vigil, worship, where you find gathered a great number of baobad trees, making it a very interesting location. During this tour you will have the opportunity to see various points of the city of Luanda and get an overview of how the city really is.
Day 2 Luanda – Luka (Lucala) (By Road)
After breakfast, departure to visit the main sights of the city of Luanda.
Largo Primeiro de Maio, the place where Angola’s independence was proclaimed and where we will see the statue of the first president of Angola.
Walking along the avenues of the city to the Fortress of São Miguel, the first fortification to be erected in Luanda, in the sixteenth century, during the government of Paulo Dias de Novais. Cidade Alta where the assembly and presidency buildings are located and concluding the morning with a visit to the Dr. António Agostinho Neto Agostinho Neto Memorial, resting place of the remains of the first president of Angola.
After lunch we continue with a visit to the Iron Palace and a visit to one of the City Museums (Currency Museum or Natural History Museum or Luanda Science Center or Anthropology Museum), depending on the opening days of the museums.
Dinner in a leading restaurant, with the possibility of enjoying an evening dance or in a bar with live music.
Night in Luka.
Day 3 Luanda – Catete – N’Dalatando – Farm (293kms – 5h)
After breakfast, departure via the village of Catete, in Icolo and Bengo, towards Ndalatando.
Visit to the Botanical Garden.
Check-in and lunch at the Irmmos Chaves farm.
Free afternoon to enjoy the activities proposed by the farm (horseback riding, visit to the coffee plantation, swimming pool, jacuzzi).
Dinner and overnight at the Farm.
Day 4 Farm – Malange – Rapids of Kwanza – Calandula (334Kms – 5h30)
After breakfast at the farm, we continue our trip to the city of Malange, with a visit to the city.
Picnic lunch on the rapids of the Kwanza River where we can enjoy a wonderful landscape.
After lunch we continue towards the Calandula Falls, the second largest waterfalls in Africa, with the possibility of descending to the base of the falls.
Enjoy a unique view of the falls until sunset.
Check-in at Kahombo Resort with dinner and overnight stay.
The Kalandula Falls are located in Malanje province inside Angola, are 105 meters high and are considered one of the largest waterfalls by volume in Africa. This major waterfall is powerful and impressive since it’s surrounded by scenic landscapes to match, great grasslands, and spanning savannas. That’s why its one true wonder of the world under wraps, and a hidden treasure that sees little guest visits compared to Zim-Zam’s Victoria Falls, so be part of it and discover it for yourself!
Day 5 Calandula – Pedras de Pungo Andongo – Dondo – Quibala – Bailundo (631kms – 9h)
Departure very early (05:00 am) departure towards the mysterious Black Stones of Pungo Andongo where legend has it that Queen Nginga left her footprint, breakfast and free time to walk around and enjoy the place.
Our trip continues towards Bailundo with lunch along the way.

Day 6 Bailundo – Huambo (107kms – 1h30)
After breakfast, visit to the Ombala do Rei do Bailundo. This Kingdom called Halavala was an African state of the Ovimbundu peoples.
During our visit we will have the opportunity to hear from the sobas the history of the Kingdom and a report on the ancestral traditions perpetuated by the sovereigns.
Continue to the city of Huambo.

Day 7 Huambo – Caconda – Cacula – Lubango (409 Kms – 7h)
After breakfast, departure towards the city of Lubango Picnic lunch along the way.
Arrival in Lubango with the rest of the day free for rest and personal activities.

Lubango is yet undiscovered and underappreciated, frequently eclipsed by its more well-known cousins. Tucked away in the untamed splendor of Southern Angola is Lubango, a city that stays out of the spotlight most of the time yet is home to a wealth of historical significance, natural beauties, and cultural diversity.
The varied and breathtaking terrain of Lubango is highlighted by its verdant vegetation, tall mountains, and tumbling waterfalls. At its center is the recognizable Serra da Leba, a magnificent mountain range that provides breathtaking sweeping vistas of the plateaus and valleys around it. An engineering wonder and a monument to human ingenuity is the meandering road that wiggles up the mountainside. When the sun sets, the Serra da Leba changes into a vibrant canvas that mesmerizes everyone who sees it.
Day 8 Lubango
Lubango Se – Museum – City Gardens – Senhora do Monte – Cristo Rei – Serra da Leba Viewpoint – Tundavala.
After breakfast, city tour of Lubango called the city of knowledge, with a visit to the city center, the Cathedral, the Huíla Regional Museum, Nossa Senhora do Monte and the city’s garden.
After lunch, we will also visit Cristo Rei, the Serra da Leba Viewpoint and ending our visit at the first wonder of Angola the “Tundavala” where we will enjoy the sunset.
Return to the hotel, dinner and night in Lubango.
Day 9 Lubango – Tubular (358KMS – 5h)
After breakfast, departure to Talamajamba, a city located in the Municipality of Baía Farta – Benguela Province.
Picnic lunch along the way.
Check-in at Kapembawé Lodge, which is located in the AMAC Environmental Park.
And it lies on top of a hill, between vast plains and deep valleys of the savannah and framed in a unique landscape.
Take advantage of this afternoon to rest by the pool or enjoy the various activities that this space has to offer.

Day 10 Benguela – Lobito (100 Kms – 1h30)

After breakfast, departure to the city of Benguela, where you will have a visit of the city and you will be able to visit the famous Morena Beach, as well as the Church of Nossa Senhora do Pópulo.
After lunch in the city of Acácias Rubras, we head to Lobito, where we will check into a hotel in Restinga.

Lobito is a small city of Benguela situated in the middle of the sea looking deceptively like an island, so pretty that cruise ships have started to call there in recent years very regularly.

Day 9 Lubango – Chibia and the Mumuíla tribe
After breakfast, we will depart for the Chibia region where we will have our first contact with the Hereros and the local tribe – Mumuílas.
After lunch, return to the city of Lubango for a free afternoon.
Themed dinner with local delicacies and local dances in a restaurant in the city.

Day 10 Lubango – Virei – Tchitundo – Hulo (200Kms – 4h)
Before leaving the Province of Huíla for the Province of Namibe, and right after breakfast, we will have the first stop at Cristo Rei, where you will be presented with the best view of the city of Lubango, followed by a stop at the Leba Viewpoint, where you will have the chance to contemplate the magnificent landscape and the fantastic engineering work that is the Serra da Leba road.
At the foot of the mountain, stop at the informal market of Mangueiras where you can observe the local population, Himbas and Mumuilas shepherds.
Lunch, picnic and departure to Virei, where we will visit a Himba cemetery. We continue to Tchitundo-Hulo where we will find the conditions to set up our camp.
Dinner by the campfire and overnight in camping tents.
Day 11 Tchitundo-Hulo – Tombwa – Dunas (300Kms – 6h)
At dawn and after breakfast, visit to the remote caves with cave paintings and contact with the local Mucubal tribe. Departure towards Tômbwa, where we will have our lunch of grilled fish. Dinner and overnight in tents in the desert.
Day 12 Arcos – Curoca Hills – Mocamedes
After breakfast, visit the cliffs of Tombwa, Lagoa dos Arcos and the Curoca Hills. Picnic lunch. Departure to the city of Mocamedes and check-in at a local hotel.

Day 13 Mocamedes – Piambo Pools – Soba Beach
Check-out of the hotel right after breakfast and a short visit to the city of Mocamedes, heading to Praia do Soba, passing by the beach and the natural pools of Piambo, one of the hidden secrets of the province of Namibe.
